Was this ever a good religion to be in?

where sincerity, mercy, love predominated the witnesses at one time?

or has it always been like it is today, corrupt, hypocritical, abuse of power, unloving?

just curious if it started out with good intentions and then like anything else as time goes on and it becomes too big for unqualified people to handle it, it all goes bad..

just curious if it started out with good intentions and then like anything else as time goes on and it becomes too big for unqualified people to handle it, it all goes bad..

I say no due to the fact its built on twisted logic and protocals. It seems at the start to be a good thing. Like BD said they have good morals and values and emphasize family life...But they do this in a twisted and perverted way.

Yes they encourage good morals and values but its the reason and addendums that bog it down. You have to have morals because of a deathly fear they instill in you of dis-pleasing 'god' IMO this perverts genuine goodness for a show pony of self-righteousness. As far as family values go DF'ing dis-proves that.

All of their good ultimately is torn down and cast assunder due to the fact it is all linked to being plugged into the BORGanization. If you unplug you become a lonely 'hugh' with a sad choice in front of you: give up your freedom for a downgraded sense of self or have your freedom and lose all who are plugged in and conditioned by the BORG.

Of course there is also the fact of the very promises and beliefs they lure you in with (Christ already ruling, paradise coming, all of the wicked to be destroyed) are all LIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

How Important is knowing the Truth, Really?

October 1975 - VS May 2011

does anyone have any articles from outside media sources about the 1975 wt scandal that were written before or just after 1975?

i wanted to put that type of article side by side with the article regarding the may 2011 rapture prediction and see how they were similar.. does anyone have any of these outside news items about 1975?.

I don't think they went that far with '75. Its like they kept it an in house (witness only secret) till it came. I believe the BORG was pushing 75 but hedge their bets to be safe. They did not want another Oct. 1914 where they are walking around the 124 bldg in white robes waiting to be taken up.

I was walking my dog and JWs told me about some good news!

well, it was a nice morning to take my dog for a walk and about a mile from my home i met a car load of jws working the condos.

two brothers hit on me before they went back to their car.

apparently they hadn't been able to talk to anyone this morning -10:30am, so they were eager to find a stooge who would listen to them.. i immediately decided i wouldn't talk about their doctrine, so i jumped on the flood of noah after they got the intros out of the way.

My favorite argument on the flood of noah's day is the striation on the grand canyon walls. As we know JW's love to say that the grand canyon was a result of the flood waters pushing down the earth. The striations on the wall are the result of water erosion over the course of millions of years. each inch of striation on the wall represents a thousand years of erosion.

If as JW try and say the flood waters pushed down on the canyon walls the striations would be more sheer.

Why 144,000 ?

if god can read our hearts, why does he need an additional 144,000 creatures in heaven along with the already existing myriads of angels, to assist jesus in separating the sheep from the goats?

is there any scriptural answer for this that you know of?.

i posted a while back, i've been studying with a nice jehovas witness lady for probably about 6 months.

after a few weeks i googled a few things (earthquakes, how long we've been on earth, ect.

) i realised she was very misinformed.
